Engineering Excellence at the Grand Canyon Skywalk
Proven Expertise: The Grand Canyon Skywalk Project
While we were not involved in the initial 2007 construction, when it came time for the monumental task of replacing the glass on the world famous Grand Canyon Skywalk in 2011, Highland Glass Products was the team trusted to execute the project. Since then, Highland Glass has continued servicing and replacing the glass for over 15 years, and we now own the patent on the process and concept of the structural glass itself.
Replacing structural glass on an engineering marvel is a highly technical, $1.6 million undertaking. To ensure this global attraction remained open to daily tourists, our dedicated crew worked entirely through the night, executing flawless heavy glass installations under extreme conditions.
The Skywalk Project by the Numbers:
46 massive, multi layered structural glass floor panels replaced.
1,800 pounds per panel, safely maneuvered using precision vacuum manipulators.
4,000 feet over the canyon rim, operating heavy duty cranes under the night sky.
We bring this exact same level of precision, safety, and technical capability to every job we take on. If we are trusted to handle multi-layered structural glass hanging thousands of feet over the Grand Canyon and hold the patent for how it's done you can be absolutely confident in our ability to execute your custom residential build or complex commercial storefront. When you choose Highland Glass Products, you are choosing a team proven under the most demanding conditions..
When you're trusted with world famous engineering marvels like the Grand Canyon Skywalk, you can trust us with any complex residential or commercial glass project.
